I was so excited when I heard that Lydia + Joe were having their wedding at The Grand 1401 Fresno CA.
Lydia + Joe are some of the sweetest people I have ever photographed. From day 1 Lydia was just a joy to sit and talk with. Her excitement for her wedding and all of the details was so fun! She intricately planned every detail, and I loved all of our planning meetings! I would get so excited every time we talked through her plans and the day.
Somehow, in a year of crazy weather in Fresno, the weather on their wedding day was perfection! We started the day with photos of the couple getting ready, and details photos of all of their important items. These two are so classically stylish and it shone through on their wedding day.
Enjoy these from from this Wedding at the grand 1401 Fresno.
Lydia and Joe read letters from each other on the morning of their wedding. It was a sweet time to remember the most important thing, their love for each other, on a day when that can sometimes be overshadowed by all of the events and details.
Before the ceremony, Lydia + Joe did a first look at Woodward Park. It was an incredible moment. Joe, who is normally fairly reserved, was totally overcome by emotion for his beautiful bride. In a photo below you can see Lydia turn around and say “HOLLY! I made him CRY!!!” It was a completely perfect moment.
Lydia + Joe’s perfectly stylish bridal party looked amazing, and were so helpful and caring all day.
Rosie’s flower shop in downtown Fresno created stunning arrangements. Lydia’s bouquet was perfection!
Lydia and I planned the timeline perfectly to create enough time to photograph all of the details before her guests arrived. This was crucial to getting these images for the couple. Lydia planned a perfect day, down to every detail, and Sandra with covered with elegance, executed it beautifully!!! The Grand 1401 in Downtown Fresno is one of the most elegant venues in the entire central valley!
Outside of the Grand 1401 we took some more photos of the couple. I love the classy urban vibe of the building! Can we also just pause and say how amazing Lydia’s dress is?? The horsehair braid dress was so soft, romantic, and was so flattering on Lydia! She had custom straps made for the dress and it couldn’t have been more perfect!
The ceremony was on the 10th floor of the Grand 1401 and was so perfectly sweet and intimate.
In Lydia’s Hmong culture, the black umbrella represents marriage, so the opened umbrella over them at the end of the ceremony, was quite a moment of joy and celebration.
The reception on the 10th floor was so beautiful and special. Everyone danced their fannies off and the room was filled with joy and celebration!
Sunset and night photos at the Grand 1401 are some of the favorites. I get to play with the light and create some really unique photos!
Lydia + Joe thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. I’m incredibly grateful that I got to document your special day, and that I got to know the two of you!
